Meet Composer and Guitarist Benedikt Reidenbach

23. February 2019

We visited Benedikt Reidenbach in Berlin. As a freelance musician and guitar player, he’s on the road a lot, and over time, our ROTERFADEN products have become loyal companions.

Benedikt was one of our first customers and designed himself an oversized A5 TASCHENBEGLEITER using the Configurator, which he complemented with an oversized A4 TASCHENBEGLEITER last year. He uses the “Layout 2“ calendar to organize various activities such as teaching, musical commitments at church, choir practice or »Gitte Hænning & Band« performances, where he plays guitar. Bene keeps his music sheets in our clear plastic folders which clip into the A4 TASCHENBEGLEITER. He holds onto his iPhone for as long as possible – fortunately the next model normally fits in the (matching) smartphone case. In the interview before the shoot, he told us about the painful loss (through theft) of his eight year old “friend”.

We have noticed that everyone we visited is a fan of the quality and longevity of our products. Naturally, hearing this gives us a warm and fuzzy feeling!

Benedikt uses an oversized A5 ROTERFADEN TASCHENBEGLEITER, an A4 TASCHENBEGLEITER with clear plastic folders, our paper notebooks and a Smartphone case.

The series is taking a short break while filmmaker Philipp Majer travels around the world. He’ll be resuming the series in April! Three more episodes have been scheduled and we have begun to notice some of our viewers developing a slight addiction!

Meet master carpenter Lars Führmann

08. February 2019

The fourth episode of our Film series ROTERFADEN KURZBESUCH is online! Filmmaker Philipp Majer visited master carpenter Lars Führmann, the owner of a workshop of the same name in Bielefeld. He is known for the »Fold« foldable furniture range, which combines the benefits of minimal packaging with a contemporary and stylish look. “Creative furniture making” is Lars’ vocation.

He chose a Taschenbegleiter mainly because of the clip mechanism: he needs to keep track of all his different notes in the workshop, add a quick sketch here and there and coordinate his appointments. He has had his dark brown leather Taschenbegleiter for nine years, not just because it is more environmentally friendly: »the leather looks even cooler (after a while)«. Lars, thank you so much for letting us visit your workshop!

Lars uses dark brown leather Taschenbegleiter in the generous A5 format, with various notebooks and sketch books and our Calendar Layout 2.

In the next episode, we get to visit the guitarist Benedikt Reidenbach in Berlin. And then? More episodes are already in the pipeline... but we’re keeping everything under wraps for now! We hope you will subscribe to our YouTube channel.

The ROTERFADEN SHORT VISIT short film series and the ROTERFADEN YOUTUBE CHANNEL

01. February 2019

The first five episodes of the »ROTERFADEN KURZBESUCH« film series are in the can and published on our YouTube channel »Roterfaden Taschenbegleiter« — and we are very pleased with them!

On our behalf, the filmmaker Philipp Majer visited an illustrator in her studio. He also stopped by a speech therapist and our retailer in Bielefeld. We invite you to subscribe to our YouTube channel .

Episode 01 — The illustrator Joni Majer
Our neighbour Joni Majer works as an illustrator in Saarbrücken. She came up with our ROTERFADEN clip animation three years ago. Her clients include the German newspaper Die ZEIT and the magazine Brand Eins as well as DER SPIEGEL and the NEW YORK TIMES. She has a succesful Instagram series called »DAILY DRAWING«, which is also available as a page-a-day calendar.

Joni uses a Taschenbegleiter LB_15 in generous format A5, the calendar layout 1 and, of course, the sketchbooks.

Episode 02 — The speech therapist Christine Britz-Simon
Seven years ago, the speech therapist Christine Britz-Simon gave herself and her employees a large TASCHENBEGLEITER. Her team uses a »MAGNUM« calendar from Brunnen on the inside – clipping “foreign” products into a TASCHENBEGLEITER is not a problem. Thank you to our model for her help!

Christine uses a Taschenbegleiter 20×25 cm (new size since 2017: 21×28 cm) and the calendar »Magnum« by Brunnen.

Episode 03 — Katja Führmann, PARTIKEL in Bielefeld
The PARTIKEL shop in Bielefeld has been one of our retailers for nine years. Katja Führmann presents our TASCHENBEGLEITER beautifully – and they are in very good company: she also hand-makes bags and small screen prints under her own label »48/00«. Thank you Katja!

Katja uses our Taschenbegleiter ST_17 in generous format A5.

…and there will be more: in the following episodes, we will visit a long-time customer of us, a master carpenter, and a Berlin-based guitar player. Episodes 06 and 07 are already in the pipeline — but we’re keeping everything under wraps for now! We invite you to subscribe to our YouTube channel.
